Duggan has also been proud to be known as the wrestler who carries the American Flag into the arena and into the ring, showing support for the country and for American's brave men and women of the armed forces. He has made numerous appearances with, and on behalf of, military organizations.

He has served as a co-host of the annual Variety Club Telethon since 2002, helping that organization to raise over $25 million, and has participated in the World Sailfish Challenge in Florida for six years, to benefit various charities.

He is a native of Glen Falls, New York and is a 1977 graduate of Southern Methodist University (SMU) where he was a 4-year starter and Co-Captain of the football team. After graduation he played with the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL and the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.
