Glenmoore Residents Volunteer Time to The Great American Cleanup of PA
Residents of Glenmoore, PA/Wallace Twp. participated and volunteered in The Great American Cleanup of PA on Saturday, April 17th, 2010.
GLENMOORE, PA, April 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Saturday, April 17th, 2010, twelve residents of Glenmoore, PA (Wallace Township, Chester County) volunteered their service to pick up litter and debris along Little Conestoga Road as part of The Great American Cleanup of PA. Among the 12 were 4 youths between 9 and 16 years of age.
"This is our 3rd year of volunteering and community involvement," said Jeff Tincher, co-organizer of the event , along with his wife Cathy. "Turn out is always great and we appreciate everyone's help. This year we collected 15 bags of trash along our two-mile stretch of roadway. It's a great feeling to give back a little time to do something for the environment and our community."
The Residents of Glenmoore organization is looking for additional volunteers to expand its efforts and clean additional roads and parks throughout the surrounding areas. The Great American Cleanup of PA is a statewide cleanup campaign involving local and state government, businesses, waste haulers, and environmental and civic groups. The PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the Department of Transportation (PennDOT), in cooperation with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, Inc., are sponsoring the Great American Cleanup of PA. Gloves, trash bags and safety equipment are provided by PENNDOT and other sponsors.
