JPL Selected to help PA Chiefs of Police Establish Virtual Training Network
In order to improve the accessibility and availability of training, the Pa Chiefs of Police Association (PCPA) has selected JPL to help establish a virtual training network and create on line training courses.

HARRISBUG, PA, March 11, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In order to improve the accessibility and availability of training, the Pa Chiefs of Police Association (PCPA) has selected JPL to help establish a virtual training network and create on line training courses to help law enforcement professionals maintain their certifications.

The Pennsylvania Virtual Training Network (PaVTN) will provide officers with access to the essential training needed to perform their duties in a complex, ever-changing environment. JPL will help the PCPA setup the curriculum, customize the learning management system and promote PaVTN to their members.

The initial online courses will cover court decisions and new laws that govern police activities, domestic violence issues and booking and fingerprinting procedures. Through the use of audio narration, video, and interactive scenarios, police officers will gain the critical knowledge they need to remain safe and protect the public.

Training is currently offered through instructor-led courses that require police officers to leave their home jurisdictions and travel to central locations. PaVTN and the online courses will provide convenient access to quality training while reducing travel costs and time away from the job. The first program is set to launch at the end of March with all of the training courses to be completed by the fall of 2012.
