NJ State Nurses Association to Use Polaris Outcomes System for Substance Abuse to Support Recovering Nurses
Polaris-CD, an outcomes assessment system for chemical dependency, will be used to support recovering nurses who are participating in the Recovery and Monitoring Program.
LANGHORNE, PA, July 16, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Polaris Health Directions, a national leader in behavioral health outcomes management, welcomes its newest client, the Institute for Nursing (IFN), the foundation of the New Jersey State Nurses Association.
The IFN will implement Polaris's outcomes assessment system for chemical dependency, Polaris-CD, to support recovering nurses who are participating in the Recovery and Monitoring Program (RAMP). RAMP is an alternative to discipline program contracted with the New Jersey Board of Nursing to provide monitoring and support to nurses with mental illness and substance use disorders. The program seeks to help nurses protect the public while safeguarding the wellness of the nurse.
Polaris-CD collects data from clients and their clinicians on multiple life areas and then produces real-time reports at the individual level or at the aggregate, severity-adjusted program level, placing critical clinical data in the hands of clinicians on demand. These reports can be used to better manage the course of treatment, identify possible obstacles to recovery and anticipate negative outcomes.
RAMP will use Polaris-CD clinical data to refine its services, raise community awareness on addiction and improve outcomes. The IFN endorsed the implementation of Polaris-CD for its unparalleled ability to benchmark progress and to predict relapse and dropout.
